The Massachusetts Economic Development Council (MEDC) is a nonprofit membership organization committed to fostering leadership and excellence in economic development professionals for the benefit of their communities and our partners in Massachusetts. Established in 1963, MEDC provides an opportunity for professional development and networking for economic development practitioners.

MEDC’s primary objective is the promotion and development of the economic welfare of Massachusetts - through industrial and economic development - enhancing our local economies through the mobilization of human, financial, capital, physical, and natural resources to promote economic and industrial development.

Our vision is to make sustainable economic development a priority in every community and at every level of government by professionalizing and diversifying the economic development field.

Who We Are

MEDC members are individuals engaged in industrial, economic, and community development organizations, as well as executives of local municipalities, Chambers of Commerce, utility organizations, and professionals in a private, public, and quasi-public industrial and economic development organizations.
